I love Spring. As the weather warms up, when I see fresh blossoms budding on trees, and a little more sunlight, my brain starts to clear out the cobwebs of winter and find a renewed spirit for activity.
Anybody else?
Spring cleaning
Having kids in elementary school is a true testament of the power of clutter. While I can handle the toys, old clothes, and their hidden treasures, I have a hard time when it comes to the MOUNTAINS of papers that get stacked up from school.
Don’t get me wrong, I love our school for teaching my children the skills of gluing and cutting, but I get overwhelmed with the piles and piles of worksheets. So it creates a doom pile. A winter wonderland of scribbles and doodles.
It’s an avalanche over here, folks.
But in the midst of the crazy, I see rays of sunshine that spark little bits of hope. Their artwork is the best and it makes me smile when I see it.
The truth of the matter is that too quickly, I smile, love the picture, and then banish it to the kid’s keepsake boxes to see it when the kid’s ask to look through it the next year.
And that makes me sad.
A New Plan
Thank goodness for the inventions of cameras on phones, because in the chaos of mess, I need to have easy access to tools and my phone is never far away with my Spotify playlist blaring hype music! I decided that today the kids art needed to live on in another purpose.

I am one of those old fashioned ladies born in the 1900’s, so blank notecards are still alive and well in my house. While I love the blank cards that come from Amazon, I love that I can have handmade art to use instead!
I ran to Vistaprint.com and found a template where I could put my favorite art and gasped when I saw how cheap it was for a small quantity.

EEEEEEKKKK!
It is so wonderful and brings me so much joy! Not only that, but I KNOW my kids will have fun sending happy mail when they can see their art on the front.
